About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Control Management Officer to join the Legal and Public Affairs Control Management team. This position will report to the Legal and Public Affairs Control Management Executive and partner with Legal and Public Affairs business partners to identify processes, develop effective controls, support risk and control assessments, and determine corrective actions to address issues. This position acts as a trusted advisor and is critical to help Legal and Public Affairs reduce risk, improve controls, and build credible success in addressing issues.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated with expertise in risk and control management; a self-starter who is accustomed to working in complex organizations with a diverse group of stakeholders; and someone who is able to withstand challenges and adapt accordingly. They will also have a demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholder groups including leaders within Legal, Public Affairs, the Enterprise Function Control Management central team, Corporate Risk, and Audit.
In this role, you will:- Act as an advisor to more experienced leaders in developing risk mitigation strategies for complex and highly integrated business specific risk across different business lines
- Monitor, measure, evaluate, and report impact of decisions and business controls to the relevant business group and enterprise function
- Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex current and emerging risks requiring in depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, as well as good understanding of financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, and business process management
- Provide vision, direction, and expertise to more experienced leaders on implementing innovative and significant business solutions for highly complex risks associated with business operations
- Lead and mentor Control Management project or virtual teams
- Engage with all levels of roles across the business group, and serve as an experienced advisor in designing and implementing risk mitigation strategies, business processes, and controls that mitigate risks and address regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications:- 7+ years of Risk Management or Financial Services Industry experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:- Advanced knowledge of issue management policy and procedures
- Experience determining the root cause of identified issues
- Knowledge and understanding of the RCSA process. Experience running an annual refresh
- Proven experience with conducting risk and control assessments
- Experience identifying key issues, involving impacted parties, designing solutions, obtaining buy-in, and communicating effectively through resolution
- Experience articulating issues, risks, and proposed solutions to various levels of staff and management
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience managing multiple tasks within aggressive time frames
- Strong relationship development skills
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with senior executive-level leaders
- Ability to effectively partner, negotiate, influence, and provide challenge at the senior management level
- Knowledge and understanding of Legal and Public Affairs
