Essential Responsibilities
- Complete machine set-up and load tools as required
- Utilize tool room equipment such as Bridgeport Mills, engine lathers, surface and internal grinding equipment, hand tools, drills, saws, insert tooling, etc.
- Ability to read blueprints, hand sketches, and specs. Ability to use CAD or other digital design tools to document ideas or work closely with an engineer to complete this task
- Perform Jaw cutting and re-cutting.
- Set fixture offsets as required.
- Verify correct tool hardware, tool diameter, tool radius, drill length, and end mills.
- Verify accuracy of tool offset changes as needed.
- Perform periodic inspections of calibration.
- Maintain accurate work records.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments to inspect parts.
- Support our team concept and learn/perform other duties as required.
- Run production machines as needed
- Communicate effectively and professionally with others, both written and verbal.
- Follow and promote safe work practices.
- Support LEAN initiatives.
- Lift light to medium weight in an environment that may occasionally require crouching, stooping and/or awkward work positions.
- Support the design of tools and fixtures
Requirements include.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of CNC machining experience
- 2+ years of tool room experience
- Experience with Bridgeport mills and engine lathes, surface grinding, and drilling.
- Ability to read, understand, and utilize procedures, sketches, and blueprints as well as perform basic mathematical calculations.
Desirable characteristics
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of precision measuring equipment and demonstrated ability to work within a team environment.
- Water Jet experience
- Wire EDM
- Gun Drill and precision boring experience
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
