Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control is seeking a 2026 Summer Intern in Orlando, FL. In this role, you will develop a system architecture using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) techniques, develop models for current and future system designs, develop system and system element architectures, designs, and interface definitions while supporting necessary internal and external design reviews, and serve as the focal point for the development and communication of the system architecture for the various stakeholders including both internal and external customers. The successful candidate will perform system architecture design using SysML based tools, perform system functionality definition including system states and modes, define system design for software requirements/functional interfaces and mission planning features, and synthesize design characteristics into an implementable system architecture.
Additional activities include:
• Working with requirements management team to ensure accuracy of the subsystem element model within the overall system model and linking with the subsystem requirements.
• Coordination with the team for modelling and simulation scenarios, and predicted performance.
• Supporting system timelines and working with software and hardware teams.
• Documentation of system design and implementation for various use case scenarios.
• Conducting model based performance simulations to determine the impact of requirements changes on system performance/behaviors.

Basic Qualifications:• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree program in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, math, or physics
• Willingness to work onsite in a classified lab environment
• Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Desired Skills:• Experience with DOORS, Rhapsody and requirements verification
• Strong technical writing
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
