The Role:
As a Production Shift Leader in General Assembly, you will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence across our manufacturing operations. This position supports the execution of business plans and KPI achievement through technical leadership, strategic resource allocation, and cross-functional collaboration. You’ll work closely with teams across Body Shop, Paint Shop, and General Assembly, leveraging Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) and standardized launch processes. Your leadership will directly impact safety, quality, responsiveness, cost, and environmental performance (SPQRCE), while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Please note this position will rotate between shifts (1st, 2nd and potentially 3rd shifts) and will require overtime when the business needs.
What You'll Do:

Lead a team of Production Group Leaders, many of them new to GM, to achieve manufacturing objectives and drive performance.

Analyze and resolve complex manufacturing challenges using data-driven decision-making.

Coach, develop, and evaluate Group Leaders and Team Leaders to build technical and leadership capability.

Collaborate cross-functionally to align resources and deliver on project goals.

Administer corporate and divisional policies with consistency and integrity.

Monitor and manage cost, schedule, and quality targets across operations.

Champion safety culture and maintain robust control systems to track performance.
Required Qualifications:

Minimum 7+ years of experience in manufacturing operations or plant support or related experience

People leader experience with direct salaried/hourly reports

Proven leadership experience managing teams and driving operational results.

Strong understanding of GMS principles and launch processes.

Proficiency in data analysis tools and manufacturing systems.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make independent decisions.

Physical ability to navigate manufacturing floor environments as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience leading cross-functional initiatives or large-scale projects.

Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

Experience leading UAW hourly members

Experience leading Maintenance/automation teams

Demonstrated success in change management and team development.
