Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Body Production Engineering Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Seibi Technician.
The primary responsibility of this role is to support new model Machine Seibi project activities at various U.S., Canada and Mexico NAMCs, including the inspection and confirmation of new or modified equipment and to prepare that equipment for manufacturing production.
Reporting to the Region 1 Weld manager, the person in this role will support the W-T-A Weld Shop Department to deploy or modify welding equipment to facilitate new model launch and support manufacturing production changes while meeting all targets for Safety, Quality, Productivity and Cost. This person will foster an environment of good communications, problem solving, kaizen, team safety, as well as standardized work adherence.
What you’ll be doing
Programming robots both offline and online to support production needs
Verifying that new model equipment meets Toyota’s standards and performs as expected
Preparing and validating new Body equipment at vendor sites
Supporting Body Machine Seibi activities at North American Manufacturing Centers (NAMCs) from installation through production startup
Communicating effectively—both written and verbal—with Machine Seibi team members, project leaders, management, and external partners to resolve issues
Promoting teamwork and providing hands-on on-the-job training (OJT)
Supporting Machine Seibi projects with travel or dispatch up to 95% to NAMCs and suppliers across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and internationally, including Japan
Supporting projects within Region 1 and surrounding vendors, specifically Kentucky and Alabama NAMCs (TMMK and MTMUS)
Work overtime up to 80% when required
Collaborating with Toyota vendors during new model equipment build and conducting inspections to ensure compliance with Toyota standards
What you bring
Technical degree or higher in an industrial discipline, or a minimum of 2 years of equivalent technical work experience
At least 6 months of experience in Body Production Engineering (BPE) Machine Seibi or body maintenance
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
Flexibility to work overtime up to 80% as needed
Willingness and ability to travel up to 95%, including international assignments
