The Compensation Manager is responsible for prioritizing and managing the day to day activities of the Compensation team, providing direction and guidance to team members, and providing leadership to team projects and processes as SME. The Compensation Manager also functions as a consultant for assigned business groups and for the senior leadership groups in partnership with the Vice President, Total Rewards.
- Manages the day-to-day activities of the team, including job pricing, benchmarking, salary surveys.
- Leads the planning and execution of team projects and initiatives and oversees the execution of annual compensation processes.
- Provides coaching and direction to new team members; providing opportunity for learning.
- Partner with outside consultants to benchmark roles and confirm/establish market and geographical structures for the organization
- Provide compensation analysis for new and redefined jobs including job description review, FLSA assessment, salary range assignment and recommendations for pay adjustments
- Maintain various HR and Compensation systems with accurate job and compensation information
- Partner with HR Business Partners and Talent Acquisition on compensation and offer development
- Coordinate and support annual merit and incentive processes, and provide information for the Compensation Committee of the Board
- Create and maintain process documentation. Partner with HRIS team to implement changes and workflow improvements
- Provide complex analysis and modeling for compensation projects and programs
- Conduct analysis for functional areas within Allied to ensure compensation package supports Pay for Performance initiative
- Evaluate and monitor ongoing market trends and provide recommendation to adjust compensation programs as necessary
- Partner with communications team to develop communications and education for management and employees on changes to compensation programs
- Ensure that the company's pay practices comply with changing state and federal laws and regulations
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and directly related work experience required.
- 5-7+ years of Compensation work experience required
- Leadership/supervisory experience is preferred
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification preferred
- Proven track record of relationship building with both internal and external customers
- Advanced Excel skills, along with Strong MS Office skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Must be comfortable with large complex spreadsheet design & analysis to understand and develop insights from data
- Ability to prepare accurate reports and presentations taking detailed analytics to a non-technical business case
- Ability to organize, detailed data and consolidate complex information in a manner that results in user-friendly concise communication
- Excellent project management skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all work performed
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently in the completion of assigned tasks
- Familiarity with FLSA compliance guidelines and federal, state and municipality compliance guidelines
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; comfortable with having tough conversations
