About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking a
Paralegal Associate for the
Subpoena & Garnishment Unit. The Subpoena & Garnishment Unit provides legal support to the branches and the litigation team (i.e., subpoenas, liens, levies, and garnishments,). The Subpoena and Garnishment Unit is responsible for handling a high volume of matters that require oversight from a paralegal and/or attorney. These matters include but are not limited to third-party information requests, garnishments, liens, levies, court orders and court-restricted guardianships that affect client brokerage accounts. The team also handles pre-litigation matters, stakeholder matters and operational guidance for the litigation team as well as the placing and removal of restrictions. The position requires frequent telephone, email, and written communication with outside counsel, opposing counsel, government entities, and regional and branch employees. St. Louis, MO.In this role, you will:- Provide support to a specialized area within the Legal Department using a high degree of analytical, communication and organizational skills
- Research and resolve routine legal inquiries and issues to support paralegals and attorneys
- Read and research correspondence and various legal documents
- Work to improve processes within the team
- Perform moderately complex tasks
- Read, research and interpret legal documents
- Receive direction from the team managers
- Interpret legal documents and decide on course of action
- Interact with others in the Legal Department and the company
- Coordinate with team managers on special requests or highly complex projects
Required Qualifications:- 6+ months of Paralegal experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:- Ability to learn and master legal department software programs and applications
- Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
- Experience with litigation
- Experience working with Brokers/Dealers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
- Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills
Job Expectations:- Paralegal certification may be required in some states
- This position is a non-negotiable hybrid work schedule, requiring 3 days in the office and allows for 2 days remote
