Description: You will be the Electrical Design Engineer for Lockheed Martin’s Chelmsford, MA campus. Our team drives cutting edge digital and FPGA designs, hands on lab testing, and product development for high performance, size weight power critical missile and fire control systems.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Electrical Design Engineer you will create and verify innovative digital hardware solutions that meet demanding system requirements. You will collaborate with RF, test, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers to deliver robust multi function modules and wireless datalink communications. Your responsibilities will include:
• Developing digital schematics, RTL code, and HDL implementations for complex modules.
• Selecting devices, designing supporting circuitry, and performing verification through simulation and hardware testing.
• Writing and maintaining design requirements documents and architecture specifications.
• Setting up and leading peer reviews to evaluate digital designs and ensure compliance with standards.
• Debugging hardware issues in the lab using state of the art test equipment and analysis tools.
• Contributing to high fidelity simulation environments and creating test benches for validation.
• Coordinating with cross functional groups (RF, mechanical, test, manufacturing) to integrate and validate designs.
• Documenting design decisions, test results, and lessons learned for knowledge sharing.
• Supporting continuous learning initiatives and mentoring junior team members when needed.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance. A company-sponsored Interim Secret is required to start.
Basic Qualifications:
-A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with at least 5 years of professional experience.
-Digital design experience developing CCA's, PCB's using schematic capture and signal integrity analysis tools.
-Knowledge of CCA, PCB layout and routing best practices for high speed interfaces.
-Digital designs using industry protocols such as USB, UART, SPI, I2C, JESD204B interfaces to DAC's and ADC's.
-Ability to debug hardware and firmware issues in the lab using various test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers and signal generators.
-The ability to work independently on digital development tasks and seek out information to accomplish the tasks.
-The ability to follow our established LM hardware development best practices and design assurance process is required.
-Experience documenting moderately complex engineering designs is required.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
-Strong organizational skills are required.
-The ability to work effectively in a team environment and the ability to multi-task are required.
-Candidate must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance and have the ability to be granted an interim secret prior to start.
Desired Skills:
-A BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 9 years of professional experience is preferred.
-Ability to create schematics using tools such as Cadence ORCAD or Siemens Xpedition.
- Ability to perform signal integrity analysis using tools such as Siemens Hyperlynx.
-Prior experience developing and working with serial interfaces such as SPI, I2C, RS422, JESD204B is desired.
-Prior experience with DDR SDRAM interfaces and signal integrity analysis.
-Worked with development boards from AMD/Xilinx, Microsemi or Intel.
-Some FPGA design skills using software tools such as Xilinx Vivado, Microsemi Libero or Intel Quartus.
-Worked with development boards from Xilinx, Microsemi or Intel.
-Demonstrated experience documenting complex engineering designs is desired.
-Prior engineering experience within the Aerospace, Aeronautics, Defense, Space, Automotive, or Electronics Sectors is desired.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
