The Real Estate & Workplace team creates and continuously improves Workday’s productive and safe environments while supporting our core values and distinction as a great place to work. With this critical contribution to the company in mind, we partner with other Workday departments such as People & Purpose, Business Technology and Finance to ensure that we are successful in delivering on this ultimate goal. We take care of all things “space” – programming new locations, delivering and managing them – everything from keeping our offices looking great to functioning well, safely and securely to ordering the snacks that our employees love!
About the Role
Workday is seeking an experienced, flexible, reliable, outgoing and positive professional to join as an Area Manager of Americas Operations. Reporting to the Area Manager of Real Estate & Americas Operations - Northwest Region, this is a key position overseeing several field offices within our Canada Workplace portfolio. You will work closely with multiple departments and Site Leaders to ensure we are meeting our company standards while maintaining our Workday culture and ensuring the employee experience is a positive one.
Our goal is to ensure Workday offices around the globe are welcoming, productive environments for our Workmates and visitors alike. The position is staffed in our Vancouver, BC office.
Responsibilities:
Operational Management: Oversee the smooth, efficient, and high-service-level operation of multiple North American office locations. This includes managing budgets, ensuring timely preventative maintenance, handling service requests, conducting space audits, and monitoring utilization to inform occupancy planning and site leadership.
Team Leadership & Development: Partner with Workday's outsource provider to guide, mentor, and train Facility Site Advisors, ensuring workplace standards and employee engagement are consistently upheld. Collaborate with other Workplace Operations management to align on departmental goals and field office standards.
Project & Vendor Coordination: Act as a key liaison for construction and IT projects, providing operational feedback and coordinating with internal teams, vendors, and contractors. This includes attending project meetings, managing new office setups (moves/adds/changes), and ensuring all vendor and property management requirements are met.
Safety & Compliance: Partner with Global Safety to ensure physical safety and ergonomic standards are met, including conducting site walkthroughs and managing site-specific safety drills and emergency response teams.
Community & Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Workday employees, site leaders, property managers, and vendors. Plan and oversee employee events and programs to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
Travel: Travel to assigned sites in the Americas is required, averaging 25%.
About You
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of experience in facilities, workplace operations, or a related customer service field.
Experience managing and budgeting day-to-day workplace operations.
Other Qualifications
Proven ability to manage budgets and financial processes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups, including employees, vendors, contractors, and senior leadership.
Strong technical proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs, and Google Drive.
Experience in planning and executing team events or employee engagement initiatives.
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with rapid organizational changes.

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
