Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) is looking for a Production Test Manager to join our Boeing Design-Build Team based out of Berkeley, MO. Within BT&E, the Production Test Manager leads a team of electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers, along with shop personnel (flight operations mechanics) that complete production test work statement in support of multiple Boeing Defense programs.
The Production Test team’s mission is to deliver and support equipment (hardware), processes, and software for build verification testing of electrical/optical subsystems to ensure quality and safe operation. Build verification is ensuring Boeing products are manufactured per engineering design to meet intended functional requirements. Products include every Boeing defense aircraft and weapon system from existing platforms like the F-15, F/A-18, or JDAM to new development programs.
This mission is accomplished by Production Test designers, manufacturing engineers, and flight operations mechanics distilling requirements, completing design efforts, procuring parts, completing fabrication/assembly, and supporting ship-side check-out and initial build verification. The large variety of build verification requirements exposes the team to a wide range of electronics, fiber optics, RF, cable assemblies, test bench design, embedded systems design, software design, aircraft interfaces, ergonomics, ruggedized & repairable designs, ease/efficiency of equipment operability, and more.
The successful candidate will have experience in production engineering, test & evaluation engineering, and special test equipment design with a high aptitude for leadership and execution. Experience with final flight vehicle products is desired for this position.

Position Responsibilities:
Manages employees performing engineering, fabrication, and associated technical activities in the area of Production Test
Supervises Production Test statement of work, assigns resources, and supports requirements synthesis
Leads work forecast integration, planning, and department budget development/execution
Assures a solid interface with other design-build teams, test & evaluation teams, test program management, and program personnel, including early engagement with test work statement
Encourages, motivates, and inspires individuals and the team
Facilitates best practice documentation, design practice authorship, knowledge sharing, role development/maturity, and robust design reviews
Develops and grows skill base across the team by strategic hiring, individual development, and knowledge sharing
Facilitates innovation and special project opportunities
Collaborates with managers across the organization to lead work placement, resource sharing, and development opportunities
Develops, acquires resources for, and executes project and process improvement plans
Implements policies & procedures and sets operational goals
Develops and strengthens relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
Provides status to program business partners, test program management, and leadership
Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
5+ years of engineering related experience
3+ years of engineering leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (Active means held within the previous two years from today)
Experience working in a production focused engineering role
Experience in test & evaluation engineering
Experience in military or commercial program support
Experience with flight vehicle final products
Experience with test bench design & build approaches and techniques
Experience developing presentations for and presenting to executive leadership
Excellent communication skills

Summary Pay Range: $129,200 - $174,800
