SUMMARY: Performs duties described in the Service Contract Act Service Order MAINTENANCE PAINTER. May perform duties of other classifications that have a pay rate equal to or lower than the employee's current rate.
DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
23760 MAINTENANCE PAINTER (Occupational Base) description from the Service Contract Act (SCA) Dictionary of Occupations (DOT) Paints and redecorates walls, woodwork, and fixtures. Work involves the following: Knowledge of surface peculiarities and types of paint required for different applications; preparing surface for painting by removing old finish or by placing putty or filler in nail holes and interstices; and applying paint with spray gun or brush. In general, the work of the maintenance painter requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
May mix colors, oils, white lead and other paint ingredients to obtain proper color or consistency
Performs other duties as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• High school or equivalent
• Two years advanced education or equivalent specialized training.
• Two years of journeyman level experience in this trade
SKILLS:
• Ability to use hand and power tools associated with job duties
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE/REGISTRATION:
• Valid Driver's License
