Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Finance to lead our financial operations and drive the financial success of both Cinnamon Shore and the Sea Oats Group portfolio. The Director of Finance will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, providing strategic recommendations to the executive team, and ensuring the financial health and sustainability of our companies.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Operational Oversight
•Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, reporting, tax, treasury, and internal controls.
•Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, laws, and standards.
•Manage the preparation and on-time presentation of financial statements, reports, and analyses for internal and external stakeholders.
•Develop and manage the company’s budget, ensuring financial health and sustainable growth.
- Oversee financial performance, including revenue generation, cost control, and profitability.
•Develop and maintain financial systems to ensure all businesses achieve great visibility into financial health and progress to goals.
•Ensure accurate and transparent financial reporting and accountability.
Budgeting Oversight
•Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process across all departments, ensuring alignment with Cinnamon Shore’s strategic objectives and financial goals.
•Collaborate with department heads to build comprehensive budgets that reflect operational needs across hospitality, real estate, vacation rentals, HOA operations, Retail and development projects.
•Monitor budget performance regularly, identifying and addressing variances through clear communication and corrective action plans.
•Maintain and update multi-year financial projections to support long-term planning and investment strategies.
•Ensure budgetary discipline and alignment with ownership expectations through structured review processes and financial oversight.
Business Analysis
•Develop and maintain robust financial models and dashboards to evaluate business performance and identify revenue and cost optimization opportunities.
•Conduct in-depth analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs) across departments to support data-driven decision-making.
•Provide clear, actionable insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership based on financial data and trend analysis.
•Perform ROI and scenario analyses on capital expenditures, new initiatives, and operational improvements.
•Partner with leadership to evaluate financial impacts of strategic decisions and guide resource allocation accordingly.
•Translate complex financial data into executive-level presentations and reports for stakeholders and ownership groups.
Strategic Leadership
•Develop and implement financial strategies to support the growth and profitability of the organization.
•Provide strategic recommendations and insights to the President, CEO and executive team based on financial analysis and projections.
•Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A) efforts, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
Risk Management
•Identify, assess, and monitor financial and operational risks across all areas of the business, including vacation rentals, real estate development, hospitality services, and HOA operations.
•Develop and implement internal controls and risk mitigation strategies to safeguard assets, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain financial integrity.
•Collaborate with legal, operations, and executive leadership to evaluate contractual, insurance, and investment risks.
•Oversee financial audits and ensure timely resolution of any findings or control deficiencies.
- Monitor industry trends, economic conditions, and regulatory changes to anticipate potential risks and adjust financial strategies accordingly.
•Lead efforts to ensure business continuity planning and financial preparedness for unforeseen events such as natural disasters, economic downturns, or regulatory shifts.
Investment & Capital Management
•Manage relationships with investors, financial institutions, and other key stakeholders.
•Oversee capital structure and manage fundraising efforts, including debt and equity financing.
•Evaluate and execute investment opportunities that align with the company's strategic goals.
Team Leadership
•Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
•Promote a positive and inclusive corporate culture that attracts and retains top talent.
•Implement effective performance management systems to ensure accountability and growth.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in real estate, hospitality, or a related industry.
Proven track record of developing and implementing successful financial strategies.
Strong knowledge of financial regulations and standards.
Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in financial software and tools.
