Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Business Incubation Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Business Incubation Senior Consultant.
The primary responsibility of this role is to establish new business and revenue opportunities across the home energy value chain.
Reporting to the General Manager of Business Incubation, the person in this role will support the objective to transition Toyota into a mobility company through developing a pipeline of new business and revenue opportunities into actionable steps to expand the home energy eco-system.
What you’ll be doing
Evaluate market and customer needs and gaps in the home energy space and potential solutions from a revenue, partnership and eco-system perspective.
Identify new business & revenue opportunities and collaborate with stakeholders to develop the business model & business case.
Identify the necessary capabilities and assess internal vs. external stakeholders to enable these capabilities in order to enable the business model.
Work with the Energy Solutions team to obtain approval and funding for the business model and to develop and launch home energy solutions keeping alignment with the overall EV charging strategy and customer experience.
Work with the EV Charging Solutions team to align business and revenue opportunities between public charging and home energy to deliver an overall seamless EV charging experience.
Support the Incubation Studio projects through strategic assessment of new business opportunities, developing the business model and actionable business plan.
Develop a network of external partners related to home energy and Incubation Studio projects and build and maintain relationships needed to enable business models.
Promote a culture of innovation, experimentation, and calculated risk-taking within the Business Incubation team. Encourage the team to explore unconventional ideas while maintaining a focus on execution and deliverables.
Break down and solve problems using fundamental principles.
What you bring
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field; AND/OR commensurate experience.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in developing EV charging technology and products, including hardware, communication protocols and energy management software.
Deep knowledge of real-world implementation and field experience for EV charging equipment, backend network, user interface and user experience
Deep knowledge of real-world interoperability development and validation between EV charging equipment and EVs from various manufacturers
Strong business acumen, financial modeling, and analytical skills.
Strong leadership skills and ability to manage projects across multiple internal and external groups.
Added bonus if you have
Master’s degree in Business, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in project management in a startup or high-growth organization.
Strong understanding of Toyota organization and culture.
