WHY: The Global Manufacturing Electrical Bill of Operations (BoO) Process & Standards SME is critical for improving the overall quality of GM products. This role helps reduce warranty and improves E-FTQ at all Global GM vehicle manufacturing facilities by preventing defects through the entire electrical architecture of vehicle. This role supports plants by assisting them in their journey to achieving E-FTQ goal by implementation of Electrical BoO Process & Standards. The Electrical BoO outlines processes that have been proven to reduce warranty and aid in the proper assembly practices to protect our customers.
WHAT: As an Electrical Bill of Operations Process & Standards SME, you will be tasked with improving, implementing, and coaching vehicle assembly plants in executing the electrical BoO to “Inspire customer confidence in every GM product, starting with the very first vehicle.”
HOW: This position influences vehicle assembly operations by helping establish standards and processes, encouraging suppliers to enhance product quality, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve testing protocols for customer protection. The role supports EFTQ and warranty metrics by providing onsite assistance at Global plants as required.
Work Arrangement - Onsite
The successful candidate is expected to report to the Warren Tech Center on a full-
time basis. This role requires minimum 50% domestic and international travel.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities):
- Update, maintain, and communicate electrical BoO standards to ensure clarity and proper execution.
- Establish relationships with the vehicle assembly plants to facilitate engagement and implementation of the electrical BoO.
- Develop strategies and action plans to achieve EFTQ targets and ensure full BoO compliance at all vehicle assembly plants.
- Foster a forward-thinking work culture that embraces change and navigates future organizational and industry challenges.
- Build and nurture strategic relationships across various functions including software, manufacturing, and program management to synergize efforts towards future innovations.
Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Quality system knowledge of processes in manufacturing
- High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult
- Experience in production or quality
- Highly developed oral & written communication skills
- High level of interpersonal skills to effectively motivate and facilitate others in group situations
- Experience working in a team environment.
- Experience with electrical architectures
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
- 2 years of experience in electrical manufacturing processes
- Vehicle program launch experience
