he Carpenter is a trade’s position located at one of Amentum sites in Iraq and will serve the Operations and Maintenance Support Services (OMSS) contract in support of the U.S. Department of State. This position will be responsible for maintaining and repairing building woodwork and equipment, as well as assisting other positions in preparation for assigned projects, and will report to the Carpentry Supervisor. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive. 
DUTIES: 
- Maintain and repair building woodwork and equipment – bins, cribs, counters, benches, partitions, doors, floors, stairs, casings and trim.

WORKING CONDITIONS: 
This position may be located in a war zone in a contingency environment with harsh and dangerous working and living conditions. The employee may be expected to lift and carry 40 pounds of personal protective equipment for extended periods of time; be capable of running, ‘duck & cover’, during emergencies without putting himself or others at risk; and, work a schedule of minimum 6 days per week and 10 hours per day.  While performing the duties of this job the employee may regularly be exposed to extreme and austere desert-like environment - during the summer months it can reach 150 degrees Fahrenheit/66 degrees Celsius.  Additionally, to ensure that safety, health, and security measures within the contract are met, all employees shall be literate in English (read, write, speak and understand).
