Seeking a highly experienced Engineering Manager to lead the transformation of a complex user interface system, focusing on the deprecation of legacy components and the implementation of a modern, scalable framework. This role is part of the Autonomy and Automation team and plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of digital solutions for industrial applications.
In addition to UI modernization, the position will oversee the re-architecture of platform extensions to align with strategic technology initiatives and long-term product vision. The successful candidate will supervise a diverse team of 15+ internal engineers and 25+ external contributors, requiring exceptional leadership, deep technical expertise, and strategic program management capabilities to drive innovation, scalability, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Define and drive the vision for UI transformation and platform integration initiatives, ensuring alignment with long-term business and technology goals.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Program Execution: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex engineering programs using SAFe/Agile methodologies, ensuring milestones are met on time and within budget.
- Architecture Oversight: Guide the re-architecture of platform extensions to support modularity, scalability, and future-proofing of technology investments.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product management, UX/UI design, QA, and operations teams to ensure cohesive and user-centric solutions.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors, including selection, onboarding, performance tracking, and contract negotiations.
- Agentic AI Integration: Promote and lead the adoption of Agentic AI technologies to enhance automation, decision-making, and user experience across the platform.
- Budget Ownership: Develop and manage program budgets, including forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting.
- Risk & Issue Management: Identify risks and issues early, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure transparent communication with stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Provide regular updates to senior leadership, ensuring visibility into program status, challenges, and strategic impact.
Required Skills & Experience
- 15+ years of progressive experience in engineering leadership roles, with a strong track record of delivering complex software programs.
- Proven expertise in program delivery, including planning, execution, and stakeholder management across large-scale, multi-disciplinary teams.
- Deep understanding of SAFe/Agile frameworks, with hands-on experience in leading Agile Release Trains and managing PI planning.
- Demonstrated success in vendor management, including strategic sourcing, performance evaluation, and contract governance.
- Practical experience with Agentic AI technologies and their integration into enterprise systems or workflows.
- Strong background in budget management, including financial planning, cost optimization.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Experience in leading UI/UX transformation projects, including modernization of legacy systems and implementation of contemporary frameworks.
- Ability to manage ambiguity, prioritize competing demands, and drive clarity in fast-paced environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Certifications in SAFe, PMP, or Agile methodologies.
- Experience in industrial automation, enterprise UI systems, or digital transformation programs
