Description:You will be the Mechanical Design Engineer for an Air Dominance development and production team supporting the Forward Guidance Section IPT.
What You Will Be Doing As the Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible supporting evolutionary development of missile structures and subassemblies, including supporting production program by identifying and resolving production issues, defects, and failures. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement viable solutions, often in time-sensitive situations.
Your responsibilities will include:
•Participate as a key member in the Material Review Board (MRB) process, including reviewing non-conforming hardware for performance impacts, identify appropriate root cause and ensure corrective action is taken to prevent recurrence
•Coordinate effort within the Mechanical, Quality and Manufacturing team
•Develop CREO CAD models and detailed drawings for ICDs, components, sub-assemblies, AURs, and integration test articles
•Generate BOMs, create parts and assemblies within Windchill
•Release of engineering drawings, including generating CR's and CN's and presenting to change boards
•Perform design trades evaluating cost, weight, and structural/thermal benefits.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university, preferably in an Engineering related field
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5 and ability to perform tolerance analysis.
Minimum 2 years experience with Creo design software
Root cause and corrective action experience
Have the ability to work with minimal oversight or supervision
Have the ability to generate engineering drawings, documents, parts lists and specifications in Creo/Windchill
Be able to Travel to supplier, Orlando and Dallas sites as needed
Desired Skills:Experience with flight hardware design.
Experience interacting with manufacturing vendors, including internal machine shops, rapid fabrication, and external vendors.
Experience with Model Based Definition
Experience managing job tasking using JIRA.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
