Job Summary
This position involves Assisting the BSVE Manager in planning, directing, and coordinating the transportation operations within an organization or the activities of organizations that provide transportation services. Directly overseas and provides guidance to all Transportation personnel.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor day–to-day fleet operations.
- Supervise ground transportation personnel, vehicle and equipment operators, and shuttle bus drivers as required.
- Supervise workloads, schedule, tasks, and other related functions.
- Ensure compliance of safety standards in transportation functions.
- Review and recommend the repair and replacement of vehicles and equipment as needed to complete mission.
- Determines assets needed for mission and requests additional assets when needed.
- Supervise employee performance, allocating driver assignments, ensuring compliance with program policies, procedures, and safety standards, along with completing operator level maintenance on all vehicles.
- Coordinates and schedules buses and shuttle bus routes.
- Ensures quality control of all processes and corrective action is taken when necessary.
- Troubleshoots problems/incidents, notifies site manager or assistant site manager when unable to solve or correct in accordance with established policies and management guidance.
- Areas of responsibility include operation of ground transportation which includes a Bus Section and Licensing Section.
- Supervising a fleet of Non tactical vehicles, to include dispatching, coordinating for maintenance services, and ensuring quality control.
- Maintain accountability of all section equipment and personnel.
- Enforces and implements all safety, environmental laws and procedures in day-to-day operations.
- Troubleshoot problem areas in ground transportation and coordinate resolutions with management.
Basic/Required Qualifications
Education
- High School diploma or equivalent required
Work Experience:
- 5 years of Lead or supervisory experience.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience operating a Motor Pool which conducted dispatching and military licensing.
Skills
- Great communication, analytical, pro-active, well organized, results-oriented, and a team player.
- Use computers and related software such as Microsoft Office and other common products used in office environments.
- Military experience in a contingency environment and knowledge and experience working with government contracts preferred.
- Must have a Driving License Class A or B C with P endorsement to operate buses up to 50 passengers over 26001 pounds.
- Class A or B C Diving License must have at least 12 months of remaining validity
Preferred Qualifications
- Must be fluent in English.
- Must possess a US passport book (not passport card) with at least 12 months of remaining validity AND with at least 6 blank visa/stamp pages remaining.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment with multiple interruptions/distractions
Work Conditions
- Must be flexible with work hours and available for emergency callout.
- Position involves high mobility and staying in constant contact with POC's for all aspect of missions.
