Amentum is seeking a high performing Project Engineer II to lead the technical execution of Engineering projects supporting our Environmental Management, Defense, National Security and National Laboratory customers. This is a great position for those looking to transition their career from the Engineering Design track to the Management track. This role will be a hybrid role based out of our office in Englewood, CO.
As an Amentum Project Engineer, you would be responsible for applying both engineering knowledge, management and leadership skills throughout the full lifecycle of projects. Project Engineers must possess a high aptitude for coordinating technical teams through the design integration and evolution process, decoding and spearheading resolution to multi-disciplinary engineering issues, while representing the interest of, and providing best value for our customers.
As a member of the Design Projects team, you would be joining an outstanding group of Project Engineers and Project Directors who are dedicated and passionate about leading the successful execution of projects in the nuclear waste treatment, radioactive waste cleanup, environmental management, and advanced clean energy solutions arena. Minimum Requirements
Must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited university in Engineering.
12 years Engineering Experience. No less than 5 years as a licensed professional engineer (preferred, but required for advancement), with minimum 3 years Project Engineering Management Experience (experience leading a group of 3–4, or more, technical/engineering personnel). Those applying without a PE license must obtain licensure within 18-24 months to qualify for advancement within the organization.
Due to the nature of work, candidate must be a US Citizen. US Dual Citizenship may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Chemical, Waste, Utility Processes and High Hazard Facility design is desirable.
Field experiences including engineering, procurement and construction support, startup and commissioning
Experience supervising engineers and subcontractors
Exceptional Verbal, Written and Technical Presentation Skills

Multi-Discipline Work Coordination
Cost and Schedule Management
Labor-Hour Estimate Development
Industry Experience
Must demonstrate experience in at least two of the following, preferably more:
Nuclear waste treatment
Energy Industry Experience
Utilities for balance of plant
Environmental Management
Clean Energy (Hydrogen, Advanced Nuclear)
Must have direct Experience with Federal Agencies, such as the Department of Energy, Department of Defense
Compensation
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $145K - $160K (Annually) (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
