As Lead Director, Enterprise Strategy, you play a pivotal role helping to shape strategy for one of the largest healthcare companies in the world. Our Enterprise Strategy team is a small, high-performing group that works closely with executive leadership to pave the way for the future of our company. You will work hand-in-hand with senior business leaders to identify and analyze exciting new opportunities to drive growth and differentiation in a dynamic industry.
This role requires comfort working with ambiguity, as our team strives to create simplicity within complex, cross-functional strategic challenges. You will utilize market insights alongside CVS-focused expertise to help chart the path forward for a vertically integrated health care company.
The Aetna Enterprise Strategy team is looking for a dynamic and creative team member who is passionate about driving change across the healthcare industry and improving health outcomes. Responsibilities include:
- Leading formulation, preparation and communication of strategic and operational business plans
- Leading cross-functional strategic projects executed in partnership with senior leadership
- Leading research associated with business issues and plan formulation, including development of business cases
- Effectively facilitating large scale meetings and strategic workshops, including preparation and driving tangible outcomes
- Stimulating strategic thinking in support of business direction
- Developing communication vehicles (e.g., presentations, speeches) to help senior executives communicate strategy with internal and external audiences, including our C-Suite leaders and Board of Directors
This role will be full-time remote, located in the NE United states with travel to one of the CVS Health or Aetna offices in: Hartford, CT; NYC or Wellesley, MA approximately 1x/month.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in a dynamic, fast-moving profession; related experience within management consulting, corporate development, business analytics, financial analysis, public policy, product development, or similar role(s)
- 5+ years of experience in storyboarding and logically framing presentations, both in written deliverables and in facilitating live discussions
- 3+ years of experience in healthcare payor, Medicare, Medicaid or provider consulting experience
- 3+ years’ experience presenting to Executives, demonstrating ability to actively listen, empathize, and communicate effectively
- 3+ years’ experience working thru ambiguity, with the ability to simplify complex problems and concepts
- 3+ years’ experience working in a matrixed environment, managing competing priorities while juggling and prioritizing concurrent projects effectively
- 2+ years’ experience demonstrating the ability to “manage up”, influencing internal and external partners, often more senior in job title
- 2+ years’ experience and / or working knowledge of health plans and payers
Preferred Qualifications
- Growth mindset and commitment to deepening expertise across the healthcare industry
- Demonstrated ability developing analysis, presentations, and supporting material to successfully implement strategy or change management initiatives
- Experience building and evaluating financial models and business cases
- Strong business acumen and analytical skills
- Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Tableau experience
Education
- BA/BS degree required
- MBA preferred
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$100,000.00 - $231,540.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
