Boeing Commercial Airplane (BCA) Information Digital Technology and Security (IDT&S) is currently seeking an Infrastructure Computing Architect (Senior or Lead) to join the team in Everett, WA or North Charleston, SC.
Our organization leverages data-driven advanced analytics to support key business decisions and leads digital transformation initiatives across Boeing Commercial Airplane programs through architecture, business integration, and digital thread activities.
As the BCA Infrastructure Computing Architect Lead, you will lead a team responsible overseeing that the design and the implementation new infrastructures (on-prem/cloud) are scalable, secure, and provide BCA production stability. This role leads the architecture strategy for computing platforms, ensuring alignment with business goals and technology standards. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in infrastructure design, cloud technologies, and enterprise architecture, combined with strong leadership and collaboration skills.
Position Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, and implementation of BCA infrastructure architectures supporting manufacturing, engineering, and business systems
Define scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure solutions, including cloud, on-premises, networking, storage, and compute resources
Collaborate with cross-functional teams IT, manufacturing, engineering, and security to align infrastructure strategies with business goals and production requirements
Drive infrastructure modernization initiatives to support factory automation, digital thread integration, and advanced analytics capabilities
Lead infrastructure architecture reviews, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with Boeing’s security and governance standards
Mentor and guide a team of infrastructure architects and engineers to deliver innovative and reliable infrastructure solutions
Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend improvements and innovations in infrastructure design
Support acquisition and divestiture activities by assessing and integrating infrastructure components as needed
Develop and maintain architecture documentation, roadmaps, and standards to ensure consistency and scalability
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree or higher
5+ years of experience designing and implementing scalable computing infrastructure for data solutions, including cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
5+ years of experience with cybersecurity, information protection, risk management, and/or IT compliance
5+ years of experience working in a cross functional environment with all levels in the business from individual contributors to executive leadership
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or hybrid cloud environments
Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies
Experience in automation and orchestration tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, or Chef
Experience with network architecture, protocols, and security (e.g., SDN, VPN, firewalls)
Experience with SAN, NAS, and cloud storage architectures
Experience with security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001), identity and access management, and risk mitigation strategies
Experience integrating infrastructure with DevOps practices and continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range for Senior: $122,400 – $177,100
Summary pay range for Lead: $142,800 – $207,000
