Job Description Summary
The Military Maintenance and Sustainment Strategy Leader will support a GE Aerospace Edison Works next generation military program. In this role you will participate in cross functional teams to develop maintenance and sustainment strategies that align with aircraft integrator and Department of Defense (DoD) customer’s needs. You will support the development of data, information, and equipment required to maintain and sustain an advanced propulsion system through testing and operational fielding.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Assume significant role within Integrated Product Support (IPS) team
- Serve as the primary technical liaison to airframe integrators and DoD customers, collaborating to define and develop maintenance and sustainment requirements and concepts
- Lead the authoring of technical documents such as Integrated Product Support (IPS) Management Plans, Life Cycle Management Plans, Life Cycle Sustainment Plans, Facilities Requirements Documents, and Depot Maintenance Plans
- Lead the establishment and activation of organizational, intermediate, and depot level maintenance and sustainment capabilities
- Participate in Reliability Centered Maintenance Analysis and Level of Repair Analysis
- Support identification of spare parts requirements, forecasting, and management
- Provide input to life cycle cost models and supportability trade studies
- Provide input on the design and engineering of support equipment and the authoring of technical manuals and training
- Work cross-functionally with Maintainability, Reliability, Safety, Supportability, and Human Factors engineers
- Interface with Systems and Design Engineering organizations to support maintenance and sustainment capability development
- Performs daily, weekly, and monthly management utilizing GE Aerospace’s FLIGHT DECK principles to drive team progress and achieve defined program milestones and objectives
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university + Minimum of 5 years as the primary technical liaison to airframe integrators and DoD customers, collaborating to define and develop maintenance and sustainment requirements and concepts
- Familiarity of U.S. military organizations, maintenance and sustainment processes and procedures, and the DoD’s IPS elements
- Familiarity with turbine engine systems and demonstrated knowledge of logistics and sustainment processes for military turbine engines
- Minimum of 8 years of experience related to the role responsibilities
- Minimum of 6 years of military or DoD related industry experience
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant propulsion system maintenance, sustainment, or logistics experience
- Ability to work full-time, on-site at GE Aerospace headquarters in Cincinnati, OH; due to security requirements there are very limited work from home or remote opportunities
- Ability to travel to customer sites as needed (estimated 10% travel requirement)
- This role is restricted to U.S. Citizens
- Must have or qualify for a U.S. Government Secret Clearance
- This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
- Desired Characteristics
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Direct experience working with, or for the U.S. military in the maintenance, operation, or sustainment of aircraft or propulsion systems
- Prior military experience as a maintenance officer or enlisted aircraft maintenance technician (tactical aircraft maintenance and aerospace propulsion highly desired)
- Experience with maintenance or sustainment of 5th generation military aircraft, such as the F-22 or F-35
- Demonstrated ability to interface and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers
