About the Opportunity

Operational throughout the UK and across continental Europe, we are seeking to expand our team on a variety of nuclear projects, which range in technologies and that find themselves at different stages of their development. As Site Operations Infrastructure & Utility Service Manager you'll be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient delivery of a substantial support services to the wider project in accordance with all safety, quality, time and cost parameters to meet the needs of the construction project. The role will manage all aspects of the infrastructure and utility contracts to ensure they are delivered to plan and within cost as well as managing change and you will have a support team consisting of delivery leads managing the day-to-day activities of the respective contractors to ensure the high levels of health and safety and ensuring we provide a high service level in line with cyclical maintenance schedules and compliance with statutory licences and permits.
The role would suit someone who has experience on a major projects working within highly regulated environments with experience managing national contractors on muti million-pound packages of work.
Manage day to day the provision of a critical live infrastructure support service to a construction workforce of circa 8,000.
Directly responsible for the infrastructure operations and utility maintenance service contract valued at circa £100m.
Support the contract partners in their delivery of the works packages to enable efficient delivery of the of their sections works.
Recommend temporary measures to mitigate against safety and / or quality concerns. Follow up by taking appropriate and proportionate action (e.g. issue communications, call meetings) to avoid the halt of works.
Monitor works on site and input into the construction daily report to ensure information is reported up through the organisation
Proactively communicate with other site teams (H&S, contract, project controls, logistics) and other Delivery Leads to maintain good communication links, and ensure activity is well and timely reported.
Ensure clear, two-way communication with the Area managers so that all activity and issues are directed appropriately
Ensure the contract partners team are fully competent to perform their assigned roles – and that any shortfalls are reported to the Service Manager without delay
Develop and implement plans to ensure service delivery meets or exceeds the expectations and project work schedule
Ensure early intervention to avoid any escalation of issues affecting service delivery by working in the spirit of a ‘one team approach’
Experience of working with and developing budgets, schedules and scope of works.
Provide monthly reporting on performance & budget to the wider management team.
Here's What You'll Need
HND standard education in a related subject or related experience and skill set.
Experience within fast paced construction.
Previous experience with statutory permits & licences.
Knowledge of construction Quality Control & Assurance.
Leadership experience in a highways maintenance or similar construction service led environment.
Experience of working in a high security environment and in managing multiple teams.
Willingness to learn from both successes and failures.
Proven experience within a large complex project environment.
Excellent communication skills and able to strike up effective working relationships.
Must be willing to work with our local supply chain partners in a collaborative environment.
