Overview
We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Retail Sales Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be the face of our store, providing exceptional service to our customers while assisting them with their shopping needs. You will be responsible for maintaining a welcoming environment, managing inventory, and driving sales through effective communication and product knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products within the store.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently for transactions.
- Handle cash and credit transactions accurately while ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
- Provide product demonstrations to enhance customer understanding and satisfaction.
- Engage in upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities.
- Maintain an organized and visually appealing merchandise display through effective merchandising practices.
- Assist with stocking shelves and managing inventory levels to ensure product availability.
- Supervise junior staff members as needed, providing guidance and support in their roles.
- Uphold excellent phone etiquette when addressing customer inquiries over the phone.
- Utilize basic math skills for accurate pricing and transaction processing.
Skills
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on creating positive shopping experiences.
- Proficient in retail sales techniques, including upselling and merchandising strategies.
- Experience with POS systems and cashiering responsibilities.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and retail math applications.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with customers and team members.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse customer bases.
- Prior experience in a grocery store setting is preferred but not required.
