Who we’re looking for
The Toyota Product Planning & Strategy (PPS) Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Toyota CUV Product Planning Manager.
The primary responsibility of this role is to lead a team of 3 Senior Analysts in the planning of current and future CUV models. Reporting to the Senior Product Planning Manager, the person in this role will be responsible for the ongoing program management for CUV models within the Toyota portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Problem Solving: Lead team in the study of various product strategy questions. Find balanced solutions that take into consideration market needs and customer voice, volume and profit targets, and production constraints.
Vision: Collaborate to set and communicate vision for each vehicle program for the next 3-7 years
Program Management: Translate product vision into a workplan for each Sr Analyst. Provide guidance and feedback to ensure high-quality analysis and communications.
Training/Coaching: Coach and develop team members to become strong Product Planning Sr Analysts and Toyota team members
Strong Collaboration: Build teamwork and promote collaborative relationships within PPS and with key stakeholders: TMC MPD & Z, ZVA, Calty, PPLM, PPM, DSM, and Toyota Marketing.
What You’ll Be Doing
Design and implement market-based product and pricing strategies. Develop robust business cases and compelling storylines using market data to support product recommendations and align stakeholders.
Develop and negotiate vehicle planning volume, price, and spec strategy.
Perform scenario planning to maximize TMNA profit and sales
Negotiate product development with various departments within TMNA, TMC, TTC R&D, and Design teams
Build consensus with cross-functional stakeholder groups at TMC and within TMNA on recommendations/issues
Act as a liaison with TMC facing departments, including daily interactions with MPD
What you bring
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional work experience
Demonstrated experience in using quantitative and qualitative analysis to develop product strategies, concrete recommendations and action plans
Prior experience successfully managing a high-performing team
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an energetic, quality driven environment.
Effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously across organizations.
Hands on proficiency in key PPS analysis tools: mTAB, JATO, Power Information Network (PIN), and IHS Markit
Ability to work closely with TMC members via Teams calls during TMC business hours (generally evenings)
Ability to travel occasionally (15-20%) throughout the U.S. and Japan
This position requires driving. A motor vehicle record that’s acceptable by company standards is required for this position
