Amentum is seeking a seasoned
Project Manager to support upcoming, ongoing, and future projects under the JETS II contract at NASA's Johnson Space Center. This position will oversee day-to-day project execution while also performing select Task Order Management responsibilities for the assigned work scope.
The successful candidate will have a proven background in project planning, execution, and performance tracking, with the ability to report effectively on Task Order progress, cost, and schedule, and a deep understanding of electrical design and electrical systems. The ideal candidate brings not only a strong command of established frameworks but also curiosity for emerging approaches to project delivery and collaboration that can elevate performance and innovation across NASA missions.

Responsibilities:
- Manage assigned projects from initiation through closeout, ensuring objectives for cost, schedule, and technical performance are met.
- Perform select duties, such as tracking deliverables, monitoring performance metrics, and assisting with performance reporting to NASA and Amentum leadership.
- Coordinate project schedules, resource allocations, and milestone tracking consistent with Task Order plans and contractual deliverables.
- Support the preparation and delivery of Task Order performance reports, variance analyses, and corrective action plans as needed.
- Interface with NASA customers, functional leads, and internal teams to ensure aligned execution and issue resolution.
- Support proposal inputs, cost estimates, and planning activities for new and ongoing work.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and data/configuration management requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of project management and task execution processes.
Requisition Qualifications:This position has been posted at multiple levels. Depending on the candidate's experience, requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.
- Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and normally possess 5-10 years of related experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred; other degrees and commensurate experience will be considered.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in project or task management, preferably within NASA or federal contracting environments.
- Previous experience with technical projects that span the entire project lifecycle from conception to mission operations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage technical projects with cost, schedule, and performance accountability.
- Experience with performance tracking, reporting, and interfacing with government customers.
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
Requisition Preferences:
- Experience supporting NASA programs or similarly complex federal engineering contracts.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification.
- Familiarity with task order management processes, including cost/schedule integration and deliverable tracking.
- Proficiency with project management and reporting tools such as MS Project.
- Experience applying and adapting diverse project execution frameworks and methodologies, including Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid, Lean, DevOps-adjacent, and other evolving delivery models used in modern engineering environments.
- Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary technical teams.

Essential Functions Work Environment Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
