Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, MI, Austin, TX, or Mountain View, CA, three times per week, at minimum.
The Role
We are looking for an exceptional and experience Software Quality Engineer who is excited about ensuring high quality of mobile products across General Motors. The ideal candidate is an expert in automated testing, particularly with BrowserStack, and has a deep understanding of mobile application testing, CI/CD pipelines, and cross-platform environments. This role is critical in driving our testing strategy, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring robust, scalable, and user-friendly applications.
What You'll Do
- Automation Development: Design, implement, and maintain automated test scripts for mobile applications using tools like BrowserStack and Selenium/Appium.
- Write and execute manual tests for features that cannot be automated
- Leverage the Insomnia tool to perform API testing and validate the back-office integration within mobile ecosystem.
- Quality Assurance Leadership: Define and enforce quality standards, create test plans, and develop testing strategies for mobile app features.
- Cross-Platform Testing: Use BrowserStack to test across multiple devices, OS versions, and screen resolutions.
- Integration with CI/CD: Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous delivery of high-quality applications.
- Defect Tracking and Reporting: Identify, log, and track defects using tools like JIRA, and work closely with developers to resolve issues efficiently.
- Performance Optimization: Conduct performance testing for mobile applications, ensuring optimal performance across diverse conditions.
- Collaboration: Work with product managers, developers, and other QA engineers to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior QA engineers in best practices, frameworks, and tools.
