We have an exciting opportunity for a
Quality Assurance Supervisor - Mission Assurance Office to join our team with the Mission Assurance Office Division.
The
Quality Assurance Supervisor - Mission Assurance Office will:
- Adhere to all published safety procedures
- Support and promote management's vision and direction
- Provide strategic and functional oversight relating to Quality Assurance personnel and operations
- Administer the Product Quality Assurance Function per the JETS contract Statement of Work (SOW) & AS9100
- Develop procedures, guidelines, and implement policies that will strengthen the facility infrastructure
- Ensure compliance with existing facility and/or laboratory processes/procedures and recommend/implement process improvements where appropriate
- Develop and implement a clear method to communicate project status of ongoing activities to customers and management
- Maintain customer-coordinated expected production schedules along with prioritizing needs
- Manage facility infrastructure upgrade projects as assigned and contribute to identifying and acquiring modern technology
- Review applicable work requests and develop/provide accurate cost estimates to customers
- Develop and implement competency evaluations, training plans and programs including mentoring programs
- Develop and/or post Key Performance Indicators to ensure quality, on-time performance and other progress metrics
- Coordinate and participate in supplier quality management improvement initiatives
- Develop and maintain an environment that promotes accountability and ownership at the lowest possible level
- Manage personal performance of a team of Quality Assurance Specialists
- Use JETS Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions for Quality Assurance inspection acceptance and rejection.
- Approve or reject raw materials, piece part components, sub-assemblies and top-level deliverable products into inventory based on required vs. provided documentation.
- Coordinate closely with other JETS QA Inspectors regarding acceptance and rejection criteria and processes.
- Interface with Supplier's Quality Representatives, Engineers and personnel.
- Provide weekly status reports to the Quality and Compliance Manager as requested.
- Apply and maintain quality standards for in process and final inspection.
- As needed, this individual will perform receiving inspection of incoming raw materials, piece part components, sub-assemblies and top-level deliverable products and product quality inspections of Mandatory Inspection Points (MIPs) using approved procedures, drawings and specifications.
- As needed, this individual must be willing and available to support precision clean room activities at JSC.
- As needed, the individual will also perform source inspection of space flight government furnished Equipment (GFE) at a supplier's place of business.
- Perform other duties as required
Requisition Qualifications:
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or 9 years of experience in area of specialty.
- Must be able to demonstrate leadership ability, and good communication skills.
- Must have prior lead / supervisory experience
Requisition Preferences:
- BS degree in Engineering from an accredited engineering school and a minimum of five (5) years of related experience or a cumulation of 10 years of relevant experience
- Familiarity with NASA and IPC workmanship standards (current certification preferred)
- Experience inspecting hardware cleanliness in a clean room environment.
- Demonstrated experience and effectiveness in leading multi-disciplinary teams is required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
- Ability to coordinate support from a wide range of technical disciplines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Previous manufacturing inspection experience at NASA Johnson Space Center is highly desired
- Previous experience working on Jacobs/Amentum aerospace contracts at NASA Johnson Space Center is preferred
- Prior experience as a quality inspector in receiving inspection
- Familiarity with electrostatic discharge (ESD) control processes
- Familiarity with precision cleaning requirements and inspection
- Familiarity with FOD programs and spaceflight cleanliness requirements
- Ability to understand basic engineering terminology
- Knowledge of AS9100 and other relevant aerospace industry standards
