Role Overview
Caterpillar India is seeking a passionate and skilled Industrial Designer to join our design team focused on CAT off-highway and mining machines. This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful design projects that blend creativity, user-centric thinking, and technical precision.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Branding, UI/UX, and Engineering, and work closely with the Global in-house Industrial Design team to define product goals and user needs.
- Develop concept sketches, 3D CAD models, renderings, and animations using:
- Adobe Photoshop (Sketching)
- Autodesk Alias (CAD)
- Keyshot (Rendering)
- Support the engineering team in refining concepts with attention to aesthetics, functionality, and manufacturability.
- Contribute ideas during brainstorming sessions and design reviews.
- Work with engineers and vendors to ensure design feasibility and make necessary adjustments.
Degree Requirement:
Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or Transportation & Automobile Design with 4+ years of experience.
Qualifications
- Strong portfolio showcasing industrial design work.
- Proficiency in Photoshop, Alias, and Keyshot.
- Solid understanding of design principles and user-centered design.
- Familiarity with materials, prototyping, and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent visual and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Creative thinker with a collaborative mindset.
