Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Job Description
INTERNATIONAL DIGITAL DISTRIBUTION
NBCUniversal is a leader in providing entertainment programming to the US and international marketplaces. The International Digital Distribution division is responsible for the international distribution of NBCUniversal product to all forms of linear and digital media. This includes distribution of current and library theatrical movies, direct-to-video movies, documentaries and specials, plus all forms of television product – scripted TV series, non-scripted TV series, mini-series, animation and TV movies.
ROLE PURPOSE
The Manager, Production Operations will play a pivotal role in shaping the creative output across NBCUniversal’s AVOD portfolio on YouTube, Snapchat, TikTok, Facebook & FAST. Reporting into the Director, Content Production & Strategy, this role will assess workflow efficiencies, ensuring production aligns with ROI objectives and broader business goals.
A key advocate for innovation, the Manager, Production Operations will supercharge our technological projects to improve processes within the AVOD ecosystem. Working closely with the internal and external Operations teams, they will be solutions focused, identifying recommendations for new and existing processes.
The Manager, Production Operations will act as the team support for post-production. They will lead sessions to socialise and advise on improved ways of productivity to the Content Production team. Additionally, this role will provide operational assistance to new AVOD initiatives on an ad-hoc basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategically assess all video output on an ROI basis
- Internal champion of new technology. This involves the governance and expansion of our AI editing tools, ensuring use to its max capacity, with regular bugs and improvements fed to the Operations team
- Management of internal production software, such as Airtable and Frame.io, for internal creative briefs and in-house inventory
- Continually log all team creative output and compile monthly production reports
- Maintain and optimise file asset management systems and supervision of internal and external file deliveries
- Work closely with the Technical Operation teams for software/hardware needs and provide recommendations to improve efficiencies
- Provide end-to-end production support i.e. including but not limited to file issues, exporting, captions
- Advise on video technology enhancements for the AVOD team, holding quarterly 'Tips and Tricks' workshops for content production team on software updates (Adobe Premiere, After Effects) and improved ways of working
- Ad-hoc support for our FAST business
Qualifications
DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS
- Strong technical understanding of current and future video technology and workflows
- Passion for file management
- Deep knowledge and understanding of the full Adobe software suite
- Keen interest in the AVOD and social video space, and up to date with industry developments
- Strong internal advocacy skills with ability to support and mentor creative team members
- Confidence in identifying recommendations and solutions to increase productivity
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative capacity within a small, entrepreneurial unit
- Highly organised and calm under pressure

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Basic Qualifications
- Degree in creative arts and design, graphic design, digital media and creative computing or similar
- Knowledge of common formats, systems and terminology used in Film/TV post-production
- Excellent skills in After Effects, Photoshop, Premiere, Excel and Word
- Familiarity with file asset management systems, such as S3 and Glacier
- Experience gained in a digital media environment
