Description of Duties:
The Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:
• Develop and maintain system architecture models using Cameo tools
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements
o Create detailed system documentation
o Conduct system analysis and trade studies
o Ensure compliance with industry standards
o Providing technical guidance, participating in design reviews, and continuously improving system design processes.
• Administer, configure, and maintain the IBM Engineering Workflow Management (EWM) environment (or other Jazz-based tools)
• Customize EWM (or other Jazz-based tools) to meet specific project and organizational needs, including workflow configuration, process templates, and reporting.
• Provide technical support and training to users of EWM (or other Jazz-based tools).
• Develop and implement best practices for using EWM (or other Jazz-based tools).
• Integrate EWM (or other Jazz-based tools) with other development and IT systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to EWM (or other Jazz-based tools).
• Plan and execute upgrades and patches to the EWM (or other Jazz-based tools) environment.
• Potentially develop and maintain custom extensions or integrations using the Jazz API.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, testers, project managers) to ensure effective use of EWM (or other Jazz-based tools).

Basic Requirements:
• Must have 12, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience
o May be reduced with completion of advanced education
• Must have 6, or more, years of directly related experience
• Must have 1, or more, years of experience working in a management or leadership role
• Must have a strong understanding of systems engineering principles.
• Must have experience developing system diagrams and architecture models using SYSML and DODAF.
• Have proven experience administering and configuring IBM Engineering Workflow Management (EWM)
• Must be proficient in MagicDraw (Cameo) modeling tools.
• Must have a strong understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC).
• Must have experience with process customization and workflow configuration within EWM (or other Jazz-based tools).
• Must be familiar with the Jazz platform architecture and API.
• Must have experience with user management, security configuration, and access control within EWM (or other Jazz-based tools).
• Must have excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance
Desired Requirements:
• Have a Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Have experience with other IBM Rational/Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM) tools (e.g., DOORS Next Generation, Rational Quality Manager).
• Have experience with scripting languages (e.g., JavaScript, Groovy) for customizing EWM (or other Jazz-based tools).
• Have experience with database administration (e.g., DB2, Oracle).
• Have experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, Subversion).
• Have certification in IBM Rational/Engineering Lifecycle Management tools.
• Have experience with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
This position is expected to pay $130,000 - $150,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
