Manages the weekly physical inventory processes in retail, RDC BDC, FDC XDT and other Supply Chain locations at Lowe's with significant travel. Administers the accurate count processes of the physical inventory procedure while also ensuring that accurate business document cut-offs are achieved. Performs random counts and audits of physical inventory processes. Utilizes and proficient in the genesis, one note, tablets, OIS scanning equipment, MS office suite in stores to manage the process and capture inventory data for transfer to corporate. Directly manages a team of Store Associates including ASM, Asset Protection Associates (typically 2-5), 20 to 25 Red Vest associates and 15 to 20 OIS (Outside Inventory Services) employees during the counting process. Also, manages 20-25 Red Vest associated during discrepancies. Evaluates stores on store prep and operational readiness, tags store, verify non-countable product, coordinates the counting functions, audits, variance counts, genesis uploads, coordinate inbound receiving to ensure no impact to count accuracy, MST resets, MST refresh, MST reflows.
What You Will Do
- Evaluate, record and communicate to stores on their prep to store policies, as well as operational effectiveness through Field Inventory Walk.
- Prepare the physical breakdown of the store into geographic count sections, including instructional tagging and verifying red dots.
- Explain, direct and manage the inventory team from the store in performing physical counts and reconciliations of counts through required daily audits, BI audits, variance summary, IIVA, $1,000 Reports. Including the ability to accurate perform, document and challenge the math and adjustments in IIVA and $1,000 reports.
- Manage, coordinate and communicate with receiving on deliveries for the week, and MST with any resets, refresh and reflows.
- Manage, coordinate and communicate with all backend departments, CRTV, OFR, RTM, MR, etc.
- Display and execute an understanding of store operations policies and procedures to accommodate performing the inventory process.
- Manage systems issues associated with and are unique to the physical inventory process, including escalation and resolution with RIM and IFS Leadership team. For example, genesis, Microsoft Office Suite, One Note, Store Inventory Update, Outside Service equipment, Outside Service Portal, Outside Service System, etc.
- Manage the count to exercise appropriate controls unique to the inventory process in achieving accurate counts and cut-offs with clearly defined deadlines and requirements.
- Coordinate a feedback loop to and from the outside service, including issues being called out with the PIR.
- Enter required data from PI in PIR with required comments, timesheet database, breakdown, attendance registry, etc.
- Provide a customer-friendly inventory environment for the store to operate while managing the inventory process with Lowe’s and OIS associates, including a clean safe store.
- Manage the flow and physical inventory count deliverable for a team of 15 to 25 OIS associates, ASM, 3 to 5 Asset Protection associates and 20 to 25 Lowe’s associates during the counting process. This includes coaching, training and teaching associates, as required.
- Manage the flow and deliverable for a team of 20-25 Lowe’s associates and 1 ASM during the discrepancy process.
- Scan all documents from the week into the IFS Manager folder for use by the Reconciliation team, including communications of potential reconciliation concerns and anomalies that would potentially create shrink or overages.
- Communicate clearly, timely and professionally with ASM, Store Manager, DM, AP, DAPM, MST, etc. during the entire process.
- Travel extensively, including flight and last-minute assignment changes.
- Participate in disaster recovery, supply chain events and special projects as assigned by department.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable
- 3 years extensive experience in Store operations management and all selling and inventory management systems
Preferred Skills/Education
- Bachelor’s degree Accounting or Business related
- Experience in managing Lowe’s Physical Inventory Lead and inventory processes, as well as management of outside inventory service vendors with a focus on technology and count accuracy and audit programs
