The Role:
The 3rd-Party Manager will oversee strategic relationships with 3rd Party and Value-Added Assembly suppliers. This role ensures 3rd-party operations align with General Motors production schedules, quality standards, and cost targets while supporting the delivery of high-performance vehicles to customers worldwide. Key deliverables include representing the Wentzville Assembly Plant during new contract negotiations or modifications, as-well-as, development and execution of all phases of a Lean Material System to create the most efficient, leanest designs. This individual will work with all levels of a cross-functional team to drive continuous improvement and establish best practices.
What You’ll Do:

Monitor adherence to recommended safety procedures and ergonomic guidelines.

Drive implementation of material handling best practices and standardized performance metrics across all 3P&VAA operations.

Resolve contractual and service problems as required.

Lead and assist in the development of new initiatives, scope of work, and business cases which impact the 3rd Party & Value-Added Assembly with Global Purchasing & Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, and other departments.

Provide on-site support for execution and readiness activities related to steady state and major launches.

Integrate Lean Manufacturing Strategies (LMS) and GM-Manufacturing System (GMS) principles into 3P&VAA processes.

Provide updates to Global Purchasing & Supply Chain staff, Plant Staff and Program Team.

Drive problem solving and corrective action for throughput and quality constraints.

Develop, track, and implement budget allocation.

Analyze and validate 3P&VAA supplier invoices and cost recovery claims.
Your Skills & Abilities:

Bachelor’s Degree (Business, Supply Chain or Industrial Engineering preferred)

3 Years of relevant experience in Warehousing, Manufacturing and / or Supply Chain operation.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Analytical ability where problems are complex.

Knowledge of supply chain operations and processes and/or manufacturing processes

Ability to understand and assess complex supply chain issues and lead teams in a cross functional environment to successfully resolve issues minimizing impacts to vehicle production.

Ability to summarize critical issues with resolutions and communicate to leadership.

Ability to be flexible and at times work extended and non-core hours to ensure issues are worked to resolution.

Ability to problem solve constraints and implement new and innovative strategies.
