Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Performance Analysis and Evaluation Noise Vibration group is looking for a passionate and highly motivated part-time student technician.
The primary responsibility of this role as a part time student technician in Performance Analysis and Evaluation in the Noise Vibration group is to execute evaluations and support the creation and kaizen of new and existing processes, with a strong focus on safety.
Reporting to the Technician Supervisor, the person in this role will support the Performance Analysis and Evaluation group’s objective to safely and accurately collect and report data both statically and dynamically to support vehicle development for North American Customers.
What you’ll be doing
Perform necessary mechanical work to prepare test vehicles for NVH evaluations.
Support evaluation planning, vehicle component retrofit, and vehicle evaluations.
Component modifications and mockups.
Instrumentation setup and collection of evaluation data using data acquisition equipment.
Confirm accuracy of data collected during evaluation process.
Strongly support Toyota Safety processes, kaizen, and 5S.
What you bring
High School Diploma required. Must be a current or a former student enrolled in an accredited Automotive Educational Program.
Minimum of 1 year of experience working on cars and light trucks, completing basic diagnosis and repair of Gasoline Engines, Hybrid Systems, Suspension Systems, Tire and Wheel Service.
Experience with Fabrication using machine shop equipment including welding and metal forming.
Minimum of 1 year of experience with acoustic material testing experience with Autoneum Alpha cabin and Isokell software.
Must have a clean driving record with the Department of Motor Vehicle.
Regularly be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
Travel up to 5% of the time and work overtime as required.
Must have ability to meet weekly part-time schedule at a minimum of 24 hours working time Monday-Friday.
