Who we’re looking for
The Cross Carline (CCL) Technology Strategy team is responsible for influencing future technology of Toyota North America. As part of the CCL group, the Senior Strategist for Technology will collaborate with the team to develop and align on near and mid-term strategies for Toyota and Lexus through a thorough understanding of customer needs, future consumer and societal trends, competitive environment, and regulatory requirements
What you’ll be doing
- Develop near and mid-term strategic feature roadmaps for introduction of multimedia, cockpit, smartphone app, and Connected Services domains across vehicle lineup
- Work with product planning teams in North America and Japan to implement cross carline strategies
- Monitor in-market trends and customer needs, identifying gaps and generating strategic recommendations to meet a rapidly changing technology landscape.
- Perform periodic market analysis of industry data and benchmarking of Toyota/Lexus & competitors for new features and offerings
- Develop a clear understanding of target customers through research and analysis, report development, and presentations
- Conduct market-based pricing analysis to inform pricing proposals for new features and improvements
- Create reports and presentations to effectively communicate study results and provide customer-focused recommendations
- Attend conferences and trade shows to detect OEM/supplier/industry future direction
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Experience and knowledge of the automotive industry - competitive product analysis, market dynamics and line-up strategy development
- Experience identifying customer values and needs and future market trends
- Experience utilizing quantitative analytical tools, creating reports and presentation development
- Experience collaborating on cross-departmental projects
Added bonus if you have
- MBA or other advanced degree
- Technical expertise/aptitude in space of Multimedia and cockpit technologies
- Experience with key analytical resources such as mTab, JATO, Vehicle Planner +, PIN, market research (internal and third party sourced)
- Experience in vehicle development and/or working with safety engineering teams
- Experience managing research projects
- Experience with developing price premium recommendations
