We have an exciting opportunity for a
DoD SkillBridge Intern - NASA System Engineering Process Intern to join our team with the Engineering Division.
Join our team as a SkillBridge intern supporting NASA’s Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) documentation efforts. This internship focuses on creating, reviewing, and maintaining critical system engineering documents and templates that ensure compliance with NASA standards and mission success. You will gain hands-on experience with NASA’s SE processes and documentation requirements.
This is a temporary role not to exceed 27 weeks.The
DoD SkillBridge Intern - NASA System Engineering Process Intern will:
- Collaborate with NASA and commercial engineering teams to understand system architecture and documentation needs.
- Develop proficiency in NASA SE&I documentationstandards and templates as outlined in the NASA Systems Engineering Handbook.
- Learn and perform the following tasks:
- Concept of Operations (ConOps) - Develop and maintain ConOps documentation
- System Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) - Assist in creating and updating SEMP
- Product Verification & Validation Documentation (PRVD) - Support PRVD development
- Verification & Validation Plan (V&V Plan) - Prepare and review V&V plans
- Human Systems Integration (HSI) Plan - Document HSI plans
- Ensure all SE&I templates are properly formatted, version-controlled, and compliant with NASA standards.
- Support configuration management and maintain document repositories.
- Assist in preparing documentation for design reviews, audits, and compliance assessments.
NOTE: SkillBridge interns will not be eligible for any compensation during their internship, as they will continue to receive all military pay and benefits. - To have served at least 180 days in any of the U.S. Armed Forces
- To be within 180 days of separation or retirement from any of the U.S. Armed Forces (you may start your application prior to the 180 days)
- Must be on track to receive an Honorable Discharge
- Must have taken any service TAPS/TGPS
- Must have attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months
- Must have command approval to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program
Ideally you will have:
- Degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with NASA SE Handbook and SE&I documentation practices.
- Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Jama).
- Strong technical writing and document control skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and coordination skills.
- Self-starter who can learn and apply new concepts quickly.

Essential Functions Work Environment Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
