The Geospatial Enterprise Open Data Store (GEODS) contract provides integration, design, development, and sustainment for data services in support of the Federal Government. Regularly, developers on GEODS are involved in designing and implementing new custom features that solve unique problems as well as updating and optimizing legacy features. Each developer can design and implement noticeable and impactful changes to the system.
Responsibilities: As the GEODS Release Train Engineer, you will ensure alignment of technical strategy by planning and executing the project and release train initiatives, facilitating release and Increment planning meetings, and coordinating all release-related activities and documentation. You will ensure that dependencies and risks are identified, tracked, and overcome so that external and internal stakeholder commitments are met.
Tasks include:
- Plan, coordinate and run the Program Increment Planning Events (PIPE), to include pre-PIPE meetings and scoping of work, and post-PIPE team commitments submitted for Government approval
- Coordinate the Change Review Board (CRB) review of future developmental work
- Coordinate the program schedule, including internal, external and Independent Verification and Validate (IV&V) test scheduling
- Manage the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)
- Coordinate and facilitate End of Sprint reviews
- Supervise the program’s Scrum Masters and User Engagement manager
- Recommend changes to improve established application and organizational processes
Requirements:
- At least 6 years demonstrated experience with software development using SAFe or similar Agile methodologies, to include working with Scrum Masters and/or Product Owners to decompose high level requirements into actionable user stories
- Ability to clearly communicate, verbally and in writing, complex technical concepts and challenges/obstacles in a clear and direct manner
- Ability to lead and direct the software developer teams through program increment and program iteration planning
- Ability to identify and mitigate impediments to the software development schedule
- Training and/or certification as a Scrum Master by an educational or professional association
- Demonstrated success in delivering functional code to the Government’s satisfaction using agile design and development techniques
Clearance Required: - Active TS/SCI with ability to gain and maintain a Poly
Minimum Education: - Master’s degree plus 4 years experience, Bachelor’s degree plus 6 years experience, Associates degree plus 12 years experience, or a minimum of 15 years experience, in relevant field
Minimum Years of Experience: - Master’s degree plus 4 years experience, Bachelor’s degree plus 6 years experience, Associates degree plus 12 years experience, or a minimum of 15 years experience, in relevant field
Preferred:
- Certified Scrum Master or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Certification.
- Experience with Atlassian suite, specifically Jira and Confluence
- Cloud certification(s), preferably from AWS, OCI or Google Cloud
- Previous NGA experience
