The Role
We’re looking for a visionary Engineering Group Manager with deep technical expertise and strategic leadership skills to drive EV High Voltage Battery Serviceability across multiple vehicle platforms. In this role, you’ll lead a high-performing team, champion technical excellence, program delivery, validation, quality, and deliver innovative solutions.
What You'll Do
- Lead and mentor a team of High Voltage Battery Systems Service Engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
- Oversee staffing, performance reviews, and career development planning.
- Document lessons learned and share best practices across teams.
- Manage the full-service lifecycle of High Voltage Battery assemblies and components from concept through service retention.
- Challenge the status quo and propose creative, resource-efficient solutions.
- Resolve technical issues and ensure timely delivery of engineering milestones.
- Partner cross-functionally with Product, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Packaging, and Vehicle Architecture teams to ensure Aftersales and Lifecycle requirements are met.
- Influence senior leaders and engineering teams on future service strategies, while providing clear updates on program status, risks, and mitigation plans
- Facilitate decision-making across diverse functions and regions.
- Ensure all components meet Product and Aftersales requirements.
- Champion robust validation plans, monitor field performance, and leverage warranty data for continuous improvement
- Promote a culture of innovation focused on delivering efficient engineering solutions while encouraging the use of sustainable solutions.
- Stay informed on industry trends and competitive benchmarks.
- Manage engineering budgets including personnel, shop equipment, fleet vehicles, and travel.
- Support adjacent teams with Service Information development, and Drive Unit, Engine and Transmission serviceability.
- Manage move requirements with GM Facilities to move your organization and adjacent teams to a new location in 2026 while ensuring continuity of operations.
What You'll Need (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in automotive engineering.
- Proven track record of successful program execution and team leadership.
- Strong understanding of high voltage batteries, manufacturing processes, service processes and vehicle integration.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple programs in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective collaboration across all organizational levels, including senior leadership.
- High initiative and ability to work independently with minimal direction.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and enable timely decision-making.
