What does a successful Director of Direct Express Business Controls do at Fiserv?
You will ensure the integrity, compliance, and operational resilience of the Direct Express® program after its migration to Fifth Third Bank and Money Network systems. You will be responsible for implementing and monitoring internal control frameworks across critical operational processes, including card issuance, transaction processing, dispute resolution, fraud management, and regulatory compliance.
What you'll do:
- Implement and maintain business control frameworks aligned with Treasury and regulatory standards.
- Conduct periodic reviews of operational processes to ensure compliance with Reg E, AML, and OCC guidelines.
- Collaborate with banking partners to monitor, manage, and ensure compliance with established Service Level Agreements (SLAs), driving operational excellence and timely issue resolution
- Monitor operational risk indicators and escalate anomalies through governance channels.
- Support remediation plans for identified control gaps and track resolution progress.
- Prepare documentation for internal and external audits, including evidence packs and process maps.
- Ensure timely completion of regulatory reporting requirements
Experience you will need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Risk Management, or related field.
- 5 years in business controls, risk management, or compliance within financial services.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (Reg E, AML, OCC) and audit processes.
- Proficiency Power BI, or similar reporting tools.
- Understanding of payment processing, ACH file transmissions, and settlement flows.
- Exposure to fraud detection and dispute resolution workflows.
Experience that will be great to have:
- Experience with government benefit programs or large-scale financial migrations.
- Knowledge of internal control frameworks (COSO, SOX) and risk assessment methodologies.
- Certification in risk or compliance (e.g., CRMA, CRCM) is a plus.
How you’ll work:
This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
