Description: You will be a Lead System Engineer (LdSE) for a large and complex sensor development effort at MFC. Our team is responsible for delivering cutting-edge sensor systems, and you'll play a key role in leading all aspects of systems engineering, from requirements to subsystem development.

As a Lead System Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and ensuring system engineering execution across the program. You'll work closely with chief engineers and program managers, IPT leads, and engineering leads to drive technical excellence and mission success. Additionally, you'll lead systems engineering transformation efforts, including Digital Engineering and MBSE.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Lead cross-functional engineering activities, including Conops and trade studies, system analyses, and configuration control
• Develop and manage technical baseline, verification planning, and execution
• Provide technical leadership and ensure system engineering execution across the program
• Lead systems engineering transformation efforts, including Digital Engineering, and MBSE.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must have the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance. A Final Secret Clearance with Investigation of CV date within 5 years is required to start.
Basic Qualifications:
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional engineering activities in support of sensor and/or missile programs, including but not limited to Conops and trade studies, system analyses to bound requirements and finalize the architecture, configuration control of the technical baseline, verification planning and execution, affordability considerations, and risk and opportunity management.
• Experience required includes DoD tactical system development program experience, customer interface, requirements derivation/allocation, integration and test planning and execution, management of major subcontracts, understanding of Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) and their application, and participation in major design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR).
• The candidate must have leadership experience to include experience with direct reports
• Secret or Top Secret with an investigation or Continuous Vetting (CV) date within 5 years
Desired Skills:
• Able to simultaneously manage a broad range of technical, programmatic, and functional demands - all with different stakeholders in a fast paced environment.
• Knowledge in key technologies is also desired and includes: processor architecture, EO/IR/RF, aerodynamics, GNC, data links, simulation, software design, and cyber security, MBSE
•Experience with I&T activities (including sensor integration / flight testing)
•Experience leading a team to achieve successful demonstration of program development milestones such as Systems Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), and system integration and test.
• Proficiency in Cost Account Management (CAM) activities.
• Experience coordinating or managing subcontractors and subcontract technical management is desirable.
• Experience with formal decision analysis methods.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
