We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative R&D Manager to be a part of our Research & Development team in the design, development, and enhancement of electrical switchgear products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, switchgear design, and product innovation, along with experience in managing R&D teams and projects. This role is crucial in driving new product development, improving existing technologies, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- In collaboration with the VP of R&D, lead a team in the design and development of electrical switchgear, including medium-voltage (MV) systems.
- Oversee research activities to identify new technologies, materials, and processes that enhance product performance and cost-efficiency.
- Develop and execute R&D strategies aligned with business objectives and market trends.
- Ensure compliance with national and international standards (e.g., IEC, ANSI, UL) and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and marketing, to drive product innovation and improvement.
- Manage and oversee product testing, prototyping, and validation processes.
- Monitor technological advancements and competitor products to maintain a competitive edge.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to R&D engineers and support their professional growth.
- Manage R&D budgets, timelines, and resources effectively to ensure project completion within scope.
- Support intellectual property initiatives, including patents and proprietary technologies.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in R&D, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role within the electrical switchgear industry.
- Strong expertise in switchgear design, power distribution systems, and related technologies.
- Familiarity with electrical standards such as IEC, ANSI, UL, and their application in switchgear manufacturing.
- Experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical) and simulation tools for electrical design.
- Proven track record of successful product development and commercialization.
- Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of automation, IoT integration, and digital solutions in switchgear applications is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working in a lean manufacturing or Six Sigma environment.
- Understanding of emerging trends in smart switchgear and digital substations.
- Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing methodologies.

Pay: $176,000.00 - $237,000.00 per year
