The Engineering Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the technical engineering team and ensuring the successful execution of workflow of a team of technical professionals. Their role includes the delivery of independent selection, evaluation, and application of relevant engineering knowledge, techniques and procedures in support of the safe and effective operation, maintenance and management of facility assets, infrastructure and systems at the Joint Defence Facility Pine Gap. Additionally, the Engineering Supervisor supports objectives of the Engineering Manager and Deputy Engineering Manager and is accountable for the leadership, coordination and oversight of up to approximately 12 personnel. This encompasses planning, organization, and development relevant to the service delivery of the Engineering group.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversees a team of technical professionals
- Plan, schedule and coordinate the identification, definition and development of detailed requirements for facility infrastructure, equipment and system modification, replacement, upgrade and/or recapitalization.
- Oversee and communicate the design and/or development of solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate to extreme scope and complexity across engineering disciplines.
- Plan, coordinate and resource the provision of technical advice on proposed changes to facility infrastructure and systems, from general concepts through to detailed IFC designs.
- Oversee the development, implementation and improvement of appropriate and effective systems and processes in support of technical engineering service delivery.
- Facilitate and communicate technical recommendations, input, direction and advice on facilities system, infrastructure and equipment reliability, operation, maintenance, life-cycle management and costing.
- Facilitate and communicate the development of ROM costing estimates in support of facility infrastructure, equipment and system modification, upgrade, replacement and/or recapitalization.
- Facilitate and communicate the evaluation of operational systems, equipment, processes and infrastructure in support of general and targeted optimization and improvement initiatives.
- Maintain health and safety within the workplace by promoting safety awareness initiatives, discussions and trainings, encouraging a safety focused culture and participating and reviewing risk assessments for those under their supervision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL DEMANDS, AND MENTAL DEMANDS
Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 10kgs, kneeling, standing and walking, routinely sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, and must be able to work under deadlines.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT
It is a condition of employment that employees obtain and retain the appropriate level of security clearance and medical clearance applicable to each role. The employee will require a Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) Department of Defence Security Clearance (Australian) or TS/SCI (U.S.) clearance w/ Poly.
