How will this role impact First Command?
As a System Administrator for Marketing Operations, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing the internal Advisor Marketing Portal and related field tools to help marketing tell the story of the organization’s mission in supporting the military clients we serve. You will collaborate with dedicated marketing team members and internal clients to understand their needs and translate them into actionable solutions that drive efficiencies, standardization, centralization, and quality control across the Marketing department. What will the employee do in this role?
- Responsible for the management of the organization’s internal Advisor Marketing Portal and related marketing field tools. Acts as a self-starter in overseeing organization, usability, and continuous improvement of resources that support advisor and field experiences.
- Increases the effectiveness of marketing technology by streamlining operations, optimizing user workflows, upholding governance and standards, and maintaining best practices for portal and tool management.
- Serves as the staff point-of-contact for the Advisor Marketing Portal and field tools, providing training, continuous process & architecture documentation, and support across the organization.
- Prepares, executes, and maintains an ongoing strategy for delivering new marketing materials, tools, and enhancements into the portal and ensuring they are accessible, compliant, and easy for advisors to use with clients. Partners on the implementation and training of AI-driven tools to improve search, discovery, and usability.
- Partner with marketing team to develop and manage customizable marketing assets that allow advisors to tailor content for clients while ensuring compliance and brand consistency.
- Ensures that all portal content and tools are accurate, compliant, aligned with brand standards, and designed to improve the advisor and client experience. Regularly performs audits and runs reports to track usage, adoption, and performance metrics, identifying opportunities to enhance both internal and field-facing user experiences.
What skills & qualifications do you need?
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Technology or Marketing or equivalent experience required
Work Experience
- Minimum three to four (3-4)years of experience in marketing technology or marketing operations.
- Experience with MarcomCentral or similar distributed marketing platforms.
- Skilled in managing dynamic content, logic-based systems, and business workflows.
- Strong understanding of brand standards, with the ability to maintain and evolve brand alignment.
- Eye for visual consistency and image selection that supports organizational goals.
- Excellent creative thinking, communication, and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively to deliver high-quality, timely results.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficient in distributed marketing tools and content management systems.
- Working knowledge of JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.
- Ability to navigate and edit in Adobe InDesign and Acrobat Pro.
- Experience with project management tools such as Workfront or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of project management principles and operational best practices.
- Effective and adaptable communication skills across teams and levels.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and technical troubleshooting abilities.
- Skilled at managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
