THE WORKThe Systems Engineering Manager will be the First-Line Manager (FLM) for the Counter-UAS Development group reporting to the Launchers & C-UAS Engineering organization. The candidate will report directly to the Launchers & C-UAS Engineering Senior Manager and will support the rapid development and demonstration of our extensible C-UAS system, Sanctum, in Moorestown, New Jersey for the Sensors, Effectors, and Mission Systems business.
Responsibilities include:
• Providing technical and administrative leadership to approximately twenty-five systems, software, and test engineers of varied experience levels.
• Coordinating direct report employee recruitment, training, performance assessment, work assignments, staffing, salary, recognition, and disciplinary actions.
• Coordinating with programs on technical and staffing requirements, ensuring adherence to the engineering development processes, and collaborating with cross-functional organizations, including lab management and facilities groups.
• Reviewing business pursuits and proposals for structure and accuracy.
• Align execution efforts with the C-UAS technical roadmap, including technical debt resolution & insertion opportunities
• Identify and implement business rhythms, work practices, and infrastructure that support successful completion of C-UAS milestones
WHO YOU AREThe type of candidate we are seeking has:
• An extensive background in either mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Experience working within either the Defense or Aerospace industries as either as an IPT Lead or as a Hardware Engineering Manager.
• Expertise executing the hardware development process.
• A strong foundation in a variety of relevant technical principles with related knowledge of different theories and concepts.
• Demonstrated history of continual development as an engineer.
• Extensive experience presenting complex technical details and/or data to different audiences including executive leadership and customer representatives.

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience in product development, with 4 or more years of experience as a Manager or Lead.
• Demonstrated competence in leading engineering teams, particularly executing the software development process.
• Demonstrated experience in customer relations.
• Demonstrated experience in earned value, schedule, cost, and risk management techniques.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the SECRET level.
Desired Skills:• Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Software/Computer Engineering, or related field.
• In-depth knowledge of RMS processes, including expertise in DevSecOps processes.
• Capture Experience including authoring proposals.
• Experience in defense article development and production, to both domestic and international customers.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $128,400 - $226,435. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
