Summary
The Senior Director of Core Workstation Portfolio Strategy & Product Planning will serve as the strategic architect and product planning leader for HP’s Worldwide Core Workstation Portfolio. This role is responsible for defining and executing the long-term product vision, portfolio strategy, and lifecycle roadmap that fuel HP’s global growth and innovation in the professional workstation segment.
This leader will combine deep expertise in product planning, market analysis, and business strategy to guide investment decisions, product evolution, and go-to-market priorities. As a key member of the Global Product Planning and Strategy organization, the Senior Director will collaborate closely with cross-functional executives in R&D, Sales, Operations, and Customer Experience to ensure HP’s workstation offerings anticipate customer needs, outperform competitors, and deliver measurable business results.
The ideal candidate is a true product strategist and planner—a forward-thinking, data-driven leader who can translate complex market and customer insights into a cohesive product vision, roadmap, and execution plan that drives profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Define and Drive Product Vision & Strategy
Develop and own the multi-year product and portfolio strategy for HP’s Core Workstation line, aligning it with company-wide objectives and technology roadmaps. Translate market insights, customer needs, and emerging trends into clear product direction.
Portfolio Planning & Lifecycle Leadership
Oversee global product lifecycle management- from concept to end-of-life- optimizing value, profitability, and competitiveness across the workstation portfolio. Champion data-driven decision-making for product introductions, transitions, and retirements.
Business Performance & Market Leadership
Establish and manage key global performance metrics (e.g., growth, profitability, attach, and customer satisfaction). Partner with finance and analytics teams to continuously assess market position, share performance, and ROI on strategic initiatives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Influence
Partner with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and operations leaders to ensure product strategies are executable, differentiated, and aligned to HP’s innovation and customer experience standards.
Thought Leadership & Market Insight
Serve as the organization’s subject matter expert on the workstation market, emerging technologies, and customer workflows. Provide data-backed insights and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead and develop a high-performing global team of product managers and planners. Foster a culture of strategic thinking, innovation, accountability, and collaboration across functions and regions.
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
Champion process improvements, tools, and best practices that elevate HP’s product planning and strategy maturity and accelerate decision-making across the portfolio.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
15+ years of progressive experience in product planning or product strategy, with significant experience leading global portfolios and lifecycle planning.
Proven success in defining and executing large-scale product strategies in a global technology or hardware organization.

The pay range for this role is $183,650 to $293,800 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
