Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Manager Accounting to join our GLBL BusSvcs Tax-Bangalore -Global Finance Services Division Team.
The incumbent would supervise and lead day-to-day work efforts of a team of accounting personnel to ensure Compliance driven monthly results of multiple legal entities across the globe are presented fairly, ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls and lead tax computations for local GAAP statutory audits of multiple legal entities.
The preference for this role is to be based out of Bangalore Whitefield Office-KA
What You Will Do:
- Monthly Book closure -Guide the team in US GAAP Legal entity closings and general accounting for withholding tax compliance for multiple legal entities spread across Asia pacific region.
- Approval- Journal entries- Provides guidance to the team in processing normal to medium complexity journal entries. Approval of normal to medium complexity journal entries posted by the team.
- Monthly Reconciliations - Approval of reconciliations of medium to high complexity relating to balance sheet. Guiding the team on requirements and assists the team in complex reconciliations.
- Audit coordination related to direct tax computation and disclosure/presentations - First Level preparation and review of direct tax computation and disclosure/presentations and coordination with statutory auditors for ensuring timely provision of information as well as coordination with internal teams and BUs for timely completion of audits.
- Direct tax and TP assessments: Coordinating and resolving audit questions and managing discussions with internal Global Tax managers and guide other team members in gathering information.
- Process improvement projects -Gain deep expertise in the functional area and ideate and implement continuous process improvements through various techniques/automation tools like Alteryx, macros, Power app/ power BI as well as use of data analytical tools. Support deployment of common systems and processes such as SAP/Mach1 for Direct tax related accounts around the globe where the culture, time zones, language, accounting, tax and compliance needs differ from location to location and can be highly challenging.
- Management information support - Review and supervise to ensure various management information requests from GLobal Tax US requests for tax estimates and and other service requests from business units are provided timely and accurately.
- Managing people - Supervises a team and their related workload, prioritizes projects, assigns and reviews work, and controls the daily operating environment. Evaluates and reports on staff performance, participates in employee selection and promotes team rewards and successes. Provides technical guidance and expertise on highly complex accounting issues to other legal entity accountants and management.
- Managing Expectations -· Communicates effectively within the team and with internal and external customers and data providers. Understands and manages customer requirements and expectations and Serves as liaison between customer, team and data providers.
- Business knowledge -Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of Caterpillar’s businesses, products, suppliers and customers. Provides knowledge sharing sessions on caterpillar business, systems and Technical sessions on latest developments in accounting and reporting requirements.
What You Will Have:
- Experience: CA/CPA with 8-10 years of post-qualification experience.
- Should have excellent communication skills and negotiation capabilities.
- Should have worked on basic automation tools and have an outlook for managing efficiency in the regular work performed.
- This position requires candidate to work a 5-day -a -week schedule in the office
