As a Systems Engineer I, you will be part of a dynamic team working on mission-critical systems that process and archive remote sensing data. You’ll gain hands-on experience across the full systems engineering lifecycle, collaborate with multidisciplinary experts, and contribute to projects with global impact. This is an opportunity to grow your technical skills while contributing to mission-critical systems that support global Earth observation and remote sensing programs.
Responsibilities
- Develop systems that meet requirements within scope, schedule, and budget constraints
- Develop and document requirements, operational concepts, interface control documents, integration and test plans, and test cases
- Design and research system interfaces to ensure integration and functionality of complete systems
- Perform engineering and mathematical computations and analyze technical data from tests and studies
- Prepare clear technical reports and supporting visuals
- Create and manage project schedules to ensure timely delivery of system components and milestones
- Collaborate with team members and prepare and lead milestone reviews
- Manage priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Communicate technical details and system concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or a related field
- 0–2 years of relevant experience
- Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills
Desired Skills
- Ability to conduct trade studies for technology upgrades, cloud services, and software updates
- Experience with cloud solutions
- Knowledge of image processing, database management, and software development
- Proficiency with tools such as DOORS, Jira, and Confluence
- Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence applications in Systems Engineering
- Experience with Git
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Three years of continuous residency in the US for issuance of a Government Security credential
- The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a national agency check and background investigation after hiring to obtain a badge for government facility access and user account
Experience and/or Education in lieu of these qualifications will be reviewed for applicability to meet these requirements.
