Job Description
In this role, you are the connective tissue between our business and the systems that power them. Each day, you’ll dive into complex rights-in agreements—breaking down terms, windows, territories, and restrictions—and translate them into clear, structured requirements for our rights management platforms. You’ll partner closely with Legal, Business Affairs, Finance, and Technology, asking smart questions, untangling ambiguity, and ensuring that what we think we bought is exactly what our systems say we can use.
We’re looking for someone with deep curiosity about how rights-in data flows across the broader content ecosystem and loves connecting the dots between contracts, systems, and business decisions. You’ll not only capture requirements but also challenge, refine, and future-proof them.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Translate complex business rules and legal language into clear, structured requirements and user stories
- Responsible for requirements gathering, process mapping, workflows, and use case definition across multiple stakeholder groups
- Drive workshops, interviews, and working sessions with Legal, Business Affairs, Operations, and Technology
- Track record of supporting UAT / user acceptance testing, defect triage, and production rollout of new features
- All other duties assigned
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in technology, business, Finance, Information Systems, Media/Entertainment, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar role
- Minimum of 3 years working in the media & entertainment industry, preferably with rights, content acquisition, or distribution
- Strong understanding of the content lifecycle (development, production, acquisition, scheduling, distribution)
- Hands-on experience with rights-in, content acquisition, or contract metadata (e.g., terms, windows, media, territory, exclusivity, restrictions)
- Familiarity with rights management or title management systems and how contracts flow into downstream usage, scheduling, or finance systems
- Ability to query, analyze, and validate data using tools such as SQL or similar
- Experience with reporting/analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau) to validate rights data and support decision making
- Familiarity with Agile tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps) for backlog management and documentation
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts for non-technical partners
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills; comfortable working through ambiguity in contracts and business rules
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally, manage multiple priorities, and drive alignment across stakeholders
- High attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership and accountability for the quality of requirements and outcomes
- Experience with industry-standard rights or title management platforms, working across global markets, or partnering on data/analytics initiatives (e.g., building dashboards, data quality frameworks, or automation around rights validations) is a plus.
- A background in contract review, participation/residuals, or prior work on large-scale media transformation programs
