Job Summary and Qualifications
- To supervise the Echo Lab personnel, coordinate daily job assignments, and call schedules and assumes responsibility for the technical, operational, and
- training activities of the Echo Lab in the Heart and Vascular Hospital of Clear Lake
- What you will do in this role:
- Knows and understands the objectives, policies, and standards of the hospital, Echo Lab, and EKG Lab.
- Knows operating principles of the equipment and all safety aspects related to the equipment.
- Responsible for personnel management, including disciplinary action.
- Ensures accuracy of departmental charges.
- Insures appropriate delivery of Echocardiogram procedures.
- Establishes work schedule, assigns daily work, assigns specific areas of responsibility to staff, and assigns on-call coverage.
- Able to assist with Echo procedures when volumes demand it or in the absence of other Echo Lab personnel.
- Responsible for determining and insuring the competence and qualifications of all Echo Lab personnel.
- The coordination and integration of interdepartmental and intradepartmental services by developing and implementing policies and procedures that guide and support the provision
- of services.
- Coordinates mandatory meetings as required by ICAEL for Echo Lab Accreditation.
- Coordination of data collection as required by ICAEL for Echo Lab Accreditation.
- Coordination of in-services as required by ICAEL for EchoLab Accreditation.
- Works with I.S. to insure operation of the Heart Labs Echo reading System.
What qualifications you will need:
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in Respiratory Care staff position and 2 years
Experience in critical care. Neonatal ICU, pediatrics, and emergency room experience preferred.
Education:
Licensed by the Texas Department of Health to practice Respiratory Care.
Special Qualifications:
Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Registry Eligible
Possesses knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the specific populations served including:
Current BCLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
Knowledge of day to day operations of blood gas laboratories under CAP and CLIA regulations.
Customer Relation Skills:
Must be able to promote a positive employee culture, be a positive role model, promote and work towards customer/employee satisfaction, and to provide service recovery to those customers less than very satisfied.
Outside Relationships:
Communicates with various health agencies, educational institutions, vendors, other Respiratory Care Departments, patients, family members, visitors, and medical staff.
