About IPSD:
Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Caterpillar’s company strategy includes sustainability as one of four focus areas and IPSD is engaged and actively preparing green energy solutions for the future.
Job Summary:
Caterpillar’s 11-18L Engine Platform Team, within IPSD-L, is focused on delivery industry leading engine systems for Caterpillar and Third-Party customers through the Cat and Perkins Brands. We enable customer success by delivering products that meet or exceed expectations for performance, value, and durability within our portfolio of engines.
As an Engineering Project Team Leader – Engine Platform, you will be accountable for leading and delivering projects to support our 11L – 18L engine platforms. You will provide technical, program, strategic, and business leadership. You will both guide our team of engineers and lead the implementation of NPI, CPI, NSI, parts growth, and cost reduction projects supporting multiple applications in various machine and commercial markets in both the Cat and Perkins Brands.
What You Will Do:
• Lead and Deliver New Product Introduction (NPI), New Source Introduction (NSI), New Technology Introduction (NTI), Continuous Product Improvement (CPI), and Cost Reduction/Localization Projects.
• Negotiate and manage technical requirements, and communicate with stakeholders, team members, and customer facing teams.
• Manage and deliver projects which achieve cost targets, reliability goals, and program timelines
• Deliver value to our customers through the design and development of products that meet their cost, performance, durability, and quality needs
• Foster collaboration both within our team and with our process partners including L3 teams, test and validation partners and customer faces organizations.
• Champion process improvements within the team to enhance quality, reduce costs, and increase velocity through Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) and New Technology Introduction (NTI) programs for current products.
• Communicate results to global customers, process partners, team members, and other business units.
• Provide coaching and technical guidance to our engineering community.
What You Will Have:
Products and Services: Knowledge of major products and services and product and service groups; ability to apply knowledge of product and service appropriately to diverse situations.
Influencing Through Expertise: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to use these to deepen own expertise and impact or challenge decisions within and outside own organization.
Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
Product Design and Development: Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or related Engineering discipline.
Additional Information:
This position is located in Mossville, IL and requires a 5-day-a-week onsite schedule.

Summary Pay Range:
$126,000.00 - $189,000.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
